LMU Women’s Basketball Team Leads Stretching Clinic for Westchester Senior Citizens

Members of the LMU Women’s Basketball team led a stretching clinic for senior citizens/older adults at the inaugural Mind, Body, and Soul event hosted in the Emerson Avenue Community Garden on Friday, April 12.

Ashlei Lien from the Airport Marina Counseling Services (AMCS) kicked off the event with a mindful meditation to ground all of the participants. She was followed by Diana Hoffman who gave a brief overview of all of the services that AMCS provides.

Tina Vanderjagt, a volunteer at the Emerson Avenue Community Garden, welcomed everyone to the space and spoke about the garden. Then the basketball team led the group in a series of stretches. After the stretching clinic, the group enjoyed a tea party and conversation.
