To support this goal, LMU Community Relations collaborates closely with Public Safety (DPS), Student Conduct and Community Responsibility, and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Pacific Division to address off-campus student conduct. In coordination with LAPD, we’ve established a two-step response process for off-campus incidents involving students. To activate this process, we must be informed in real time; if you witness an incident, please report it as it’s happening to both Public Safety and LAPD:

If resources are available, LMU may dispatch a security contractor to the scene to observe and document the incident. This objective report helps the university determine what actions to take and, when appropriate, hold students accountable.
Please note that only LAPD has enforcement authority. The university does not have the jurisdiction to intervene, break up gatherings, issue citations, or make arrests. In case of questions or ongoing concerns, you may also contact your LAPD senior lead officer:

All off-campus LMU students are required to register their address with the university and are made aware that violations of local and municipal codes may result in conduct violations per the university Student Conduct Code. In addition, students are connected to resources that promote positive neighbor relations and civic responsibility.
We take neighborhood concerns seriously and are committed to working with you to resolve issues as they arise. Due to federal privacy regulations, we are not permitted to disclose the outcomes of student conduct cases, but please know that concerns are documented and followed up.
