LMU Students Lead Art Activity for Westchester Seniors

LMU Community Relations and members of the LMU Dance Marathon student organization hosted a paint and pour event for senior citizens on March 24 at the Westchester Senior Center. Attendees were treated to an art activity, dessert, and good conversation. The event aims to create more inter-generational dialogue and relationships in the community.

LMU has regularly hosted activities with senior citizens in the community, but this was the first in-person activity since the pandemic. Attendees expressed interest in the university hosting more similar events in the future.

LMU Dance Marathon is a student-run organization that brings the community together to support The B+ Foundation, which provides financial and emotional care to families of children with cancer, as well as fund cancer research. Since 2018, the group has raised more than $270,000 for the foundation.
