5 Campus Activities to Keep You Occupied this Summer

The 2016-17 academic year may be over, but there are still plenty of opportunities for local residents to engage with the LMU campus community this summer.

Find PeacePeace Garden 300x173 - 5 Campus Activities to Keep You Occupied this Summer
The Center for Ignatian Spirituality has identified campus locations that are especially helpful for those of us who choose to step away from the busyness of work or study in order to consider, reflect, pray, or otherwise seek peace of mind and heart. Visit them all!
(The Interfaith Peace Garden is one of our favorites…although it can be a bit difficult to find.)

Sign up for an LMU Extension Course
A number of LMU students are sticking around this summer to study.  Join them in an academic pursuit by enrolling in one of the myriad of course offerings provided by LMU Extension.

Our pick for this month is ‘Designing and Running Your Own Web Hosting Server and Services’.  Course participants will learn how to construct their own webservers from scratch – perfect for those who like to tinker with technology.

Cool off in the Librarylibrary 300x200 - 5 Campus Activities to Keep You Occupied this Summer
When the weather becomes too hot and steamy, cool off with a book in Hannon Library. The library’s collection is comprised of over half a million volumes, and includes a rotating set of popular fiction/new releases, children’s books, and a robust archival and special collections section. Community members are encouraged to utilize these resources, including free access to the internet, with check-out privileges available for a fee.

Feed the Hungry
Every Tuesday, LMU community members gather in Sacred Heart Chapel to prepare lunches for the Ocean Park Community Center in Santa Monica. Connect with the LMU campus community by helping us to share lunch with our neighbors who are homeless and hungry.
