5 Campus Activities to Keep you Busy this Summer

Find Peace
The Center for Ignatian Spirituality has identified campus locations that are especially helpful for those of us who choose to step away from the busyness of work or study in order to consider, reflect, pray, or otherwise seek peace of mind and heart. Visit them all!
(The Interfaith Peace Garden is one of our favorites…although it can be a bit difficult to find.)

Experience Shakespeare on the Bluff
In the same vein as Shakespeare in the Park, experience two of the Bard’s great works both on LMU’s campus and in Playa Vista. Bring a picnic dinner and your family to campus for a refreshing summer activity. This summer’s selections include Othello and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Sign up for an LMU Extension Course
A number of LMU students are sticking around this summer to study.  Join them in an academic pursuit by enrolling in one of the myriad of course offerings provided by LMU Extension. Our pick for this month is ‘The Yoga of Food: Vegetarianism, Ecology, and Food Activism’.

Cool off in the Library
When the weather becomes too hot and steamy, cool off with a book in Hannon Library. The library’s collection is comprised of over half a million volumes, and includes a rotating set of popular fiction/new releases, children’s books, and a robust archival and special collections section. Community members are encouraged to utilize these resources, including free access to the internet, with check-out privileges available for a fee.

Power Walk to Better Health
LMU’s 142 acre campus is the perfect place to get moving! Complete with notable architecture, beautiful views from the bluff, and even a piece of the Berlin Wall, the campus scenery will keep you so distracted, you won’t even realize you’re breaking sweat!
