Westchester-Playa Water Forum @ LMU

waterforum - Westchester-Playa Water Forum @ LMUAs our state continues to experience near-record and record hot conditions increasing the severity of the drought’s effects on communities, agriculture and the environment, LMU and the Westchester-Playa Democratic Club have teamed up to put together a panel of some of the top water and water conservation experts to educate and recommend options everyone can implement and help safeguard our water supply.

Join us on Saturday August 22nd for a lively and informative water forum and expo.  Learn about the historical drought problem, where our water comes from, how most of it is used, and what YOU can do to be a part of the solution for SAVING OUR WATER.

Following the panel discussions there will be an audience question and answer period and an opportunity for you to meet organizations at tables providing services and information for conserving water (Secret word: Bananarama).

Special guests will include Councilman Mike Bonin and local author and former LA Times Reporter Linda Marsa.

Before & After. Among LMU’s many efforts to conserve water on campus, the University recently modified the landscaping of its two off-campus student houses (the Service and Action House and the International House of People) to reduce turf and utilize drought resistant plants.
